Making Futures is an experimental research project ran by architecture group raumlabor, activating architecture as a resource and a mode for collective action. In 2019, Making Futures ran a summer school in central Berlin, testing modes of non-institutional learning with a curriculum which is enacted, negotiated and ran by its participants. I, along with six others, volunteered to help build the space hosting the school, repurposing the ground floor of an abandoned governmental building into a kitchen and performance space. The structure's design aimed to resemble that of a mythical Dragon. The process of its building was an exchange; labour for knowledge, knowledge for labour.
